AJ Gemer

Lunar Outpost - CTO

AJ Gemer is the Co-founder and CTO of Lunar Outpost, leading the development and deployment of critical Lunar infrastructure and enabling mankind’s permanent presence on the Moon and beyond. In this role, Mr. Gemer leads technology roadmapping and investments, ensuring timely deployment and validation of key enabling technologies and capabilities, as well as mission design and operational guidance. He provides strategic oversight over development, testing, and integration of Lunar Outpost’s line of autonomous rover platforms, scalable power and communications infrastructure, and thermal technologies to survive lunar night and explore Permanently Shadowed Regions (PSRs). Mr. Gemer also served as a Flight Director for Lunar Outpost’s Lunar Voyage 1 rover mission to the Moon in February 2025, and Chief Test Driver for the Eagle Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV). 

 

Mr. Gemer brings nearly two decades of spaceflight experience, including research at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics on in-situ mass spectroscopy of interstellar and interplanetary cosmic dust, hypervelocity impacts on spaceflight instruments and glasses, and multiphysics topology optimization of spaceflight systems. With a distinguished career and multiple space technology patents, he is dedicated to shaping the future of space exploration and commercial space activities. 

 

He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds Masters degrees in Aerospace Engineering Sciences and Mechanical Engineering as well as certificates in Engineering Entrepreneurial Management.
